Greetings Early Childhood Professionals,
To ensure the most positive outcomes for children, it is imperative that child care providers work with early intervention and early childhood special education service providers when families request observations, assessments, and services related to an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) be conducted at your facility.
DELACARE Regulations require that all child care facilities (centers and family and large family homes) allow for services for a child with a disability or those with an IEP or IFSP to be conducted at the facility if requested. In addition, the center/family or large family child care home should be flexible with the scheduling of these services, due to the limited availability of those providing early intervention services and the service times required by an IEP or IFSP.
You may reach out to DIEEC Technical Assistants for guidance on coordinating IEP/IFSP services. Fill out this DIEEC Support Request google form to be contacted directly.
Please reach out to your licensing specialist with any questions. Thank you for all you do to help children succeed.
