Updated: DEEDS Contact information and demo sessions

To all Licensed Center Providers,

The Office of Child Care Licensing has received requests regarding how to communicate with DEEDS Early Learning staff. As shown on the website, there are three ways to contact DEEDS Early Learning Staff:

No matter which method you choose, include your full name, contact information, and a summary of your request/problem. Please use only one method and wait for a response. Submitting multiple emails or leaving multiple messages will not result in a quicker response.

DEEDS staff monitor these sources daily and process requests as quickly as they can in the order they were received. The individual with the question or concern should contact DEEDS Early Learning, not their center administrator.

The DEEDS Early Learning team will be hosting DEEDS demo sessions with opportunities to ask questions on the following dates and times:

To All Licensed Center Providers,

DEEDS Early Learning  (formerly Delaware First) processing time for a qualifications certificate averages only about 2 weeks from the time the application is received to when the qualifications certification (or denial) is issued to the early childhood educator.

Because of this short turn around time, effective May 1, 2022, all staff must physically possess the certificate, with a copy in their personnel file, in order to be able to work in that position.  The OCCL practice of permitting people to work in their requested position if all documentation had been submitted to Delaware First/DEEDS Early Learning will no longer apply.

Please share this information with your staff and contact your licensing specialist with any questions.
