National Provider Appreciation Day – May 8, 2020

5.8.20_Provider Appreciation Day 2020

To All Licensed Child Care Providers,

Friday, May 8 is National Provider Appreciation Day. There could not be a time that shows how important our child care providers are to the health and stability of our state more than during this current health crisis.

Regardless of whether your child care facility is currently open or closed, we want to thank you for the service that you provide to the children and families of Delaware. It takes a very special person to work in this field, and your contributions often go unnoticed. Anyone who has ever worked
in child care knows it can be very difficult and physically demanding, but it is a rewarding profession. As early learning professionals, you provide solid foundations for our state’s youngest citizens and work tirelessly
each day to meet the needs of the diverse children and families you serve.

High quality early learning professionals and the relationships you build with the children and families you serve are critically important to the positive development of young children and to the growth and stability of our state and nation as a whole. You certainly deserve more than a
single day of recognition! This has never been more apparent than in these last few months.

So, we thank you all of you for all that you do each and every day. We thank you for the experiences that you provide to young children and the supports you provide to families. We recognize your contributions and salute you!
