OEL Offering “Teaching Strategies Gold” at no cost to licensed programs

Teaching Strategies Gold Access memo

Dear early childhood education leaders,

The Office of Early Learning’s goal is for Delaware early care and education programs to meaningfully support and promote children’s development. Implementing a formative assessment tool with fidelity, a marker of high quality programming, supports this goal.

The Office of Early Learning is offering the formative assessment tool “Teaching Strategies Gold,” with training, to all licensed programs interested in using tool, at no cost to the program.

The Office of Early Learning requires implementing or working towards implementing a formative assessment tool in order to apply for a Quality Improvement Award. Licensed early care and education programs may use Fiscal Year 24 (July 1, 2023-June 30, 2023) as a timeframe to establish and fine-tune the processes required to fully implement a formative assessment tool to fidelity.

All Delaware Licensed Early Care and Education Programs

The Office of Early Learning is providing access to Teaching Strategies Gold for all licensed programs interested in using Teaching Strategies Gold as their formative assessment tool, at no cost to the program. Once access is obtained, the program administrator is required to complete an online introductory training to support setup, and all teachers who are utilizing Teaching Strategies Gold in their classrooms are required to complete the two introductory online trainings to get started with the MyTeachingStrategies platform. Complete details are provided on the Office of Early Learning’s Teaching Strategies Gold Program Agreement form. DIEEC Quality Improvement Specialists are available to support programs wanting to work toward this quality improvement goal.
