Dear Delaware Early Childhood Council members and stakeholders,
My name is John Fisher-Klein, and I am excited to share that I have returned to the Delaware Department of Education as the new Director of the Office of Early Learning. I am looking forward to serving in this capacity, in part, because it means I get to return to working with all of you. Together, I believe we will continue to improve outcomes for Delaware’s children and families.
For those of you who do not know me, I previously served as the Education Associate for Quality Initiatives, overseeing Delaware Stars and Tiered Reimbursement. I have also worked with the First Start Delaware Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership, and our scholarship and compensation programs.
The Delaware Early Childhood Council’s vision – that all children and families have access to an integrated early childhood system, from birth-8, which provides high-quality programs and services and an environment that supports their growth, development, and learning, and prepares them for success in school and life – can be a reality. I am committed to working with you to bring it to fruition.
With that in mind, I invite you to reach out to schedule a brief chat, if you would like. I can be reached at John.Fisher-Klein@doe.k12.de.us or (302) 735-4295. I’m eager to rejoin your efforts, and I look forward to seeing you at the next Delaware Early Childhood Council meeting, if not before.
Sincerely,
John G. Fisher-Klein
