QRIS Revision Update

Dear Delaware Early Childhood Stakeholders,

Delaware is making headway in revising our QRIS and we wanted to share our timeline and workplan for the final stages in the redesign process. As we develop more detailed plans for implementation, we will invite your questions, concerns, and ideas. At the same time, we recognize that every email you read and all feedback you offer takes part of your valuable time. We greatly appreciate your investment in this process.

Below is a timeline for our revision process, through which we will:

  • Define what/how quality information is collected
  • Develop the process for providers to design and implement their Quality Improvement Plans
  • Determine how quality supports (including funding and technical assistance) are distributed

Timeframe: Actions Steps

  1. June – July 2021: Develop a draft plan for the continuous quality improvement (CQI) process
  2. Mid-July to mid-August 2021: Present proposed CQI model to stakeholder community and incorporate feedback
  3. Mid-to late-August 2021: Finalize CQI model and present to stakeholder community
  4. Fall 2021: Propose model for distributing quality supports and gather and incorporate stake holder feedback*

*As a reminder, programs will continue to receive tiered reimbursement payments through July 1, 2023. Additional opportunities to access quality support funding will be made available.

More specific information regarding stakeholder engagement opportunities will be provided soon. Additional  information on the revision process can be accessed at https://www.delawarestars.udel.edu/qris-revision-update/. You may provide feedback or ask questions at any time using the comment box at the bottom of the webpage or by emailing john.fisher-klein@doe.k12.de.us.

Thank you for all you do on behalf of Delaware’s children, families, and educators.
