Teaching Strategies Gold & Summer Checkpoints Info.

Please see the below from Brittany Hazzard, Education Specialist, Early Childhood Support!

Hello ECE educators,

We wanted to give you some information regarding Teaching Strategies Gold and Summer checkpoints.

Summer checkpoints will now be visible to your programs and available for educator use. However, please note that entering checkpoint data for the summer is optional but not required.

If your program does not want to enter summer checkpoints, you still have the ability to collect observation documentation. Observation documentation collected within the summer time period, will “live” within the summer checkpoint time period. Users are not able to transfer that data from the summer checkpoint to the fall checkpoint. Users may toggle back and forth between the summer and fall checkpoint time period to use summer documentation to inform fall preliminary checkpoint levels. However, best practice is for the preliminary level for that checkpoint period to be set within that checkpoint period.

Please contact Brittany Hazzard at Brittany.hazzard@doe.k12.de.us if you have additional questions. Thank you!
